Serving
salmon steaks is easy. In almost all entrees, 1 steak per person is customary.
And for fillets, about 1/3 to 1/2 pound per person is a good portion size.

Storing and Thawing
|
|
|
To
thaw fresh-frozen salmon steaks, place them in refrigerator for a day. Because
they are vacuum-sealed you can also run cold water over sealed fillets or
steaks to speed up the thawing process. Quickly rinse salmon prior to preparing
it. Left-over salmon should be refrigerated and used within a couple of days.

Our
Alaska King salmon fillets and steaks are fresh-frozen and individually
vacuum-sealed for your convenience. They can be stored in your freezer for
several months. Fillets are boneless, and range from small 1/3 lb portions to 1
lb packages. Full-size fillets are often available during the summer months as
well. The large steaks range from 1/2 pound to over a pound each, and are cut
at 1" thickness.
